Based in Rennes France Arkea Samsic, became a professional squad in 2005. With the turning recognition of the teams first Tour de France in 2014, Brice Fillu placed an overall 16^th place. Formally a UCI Pro-Team, Arkea – Samsic were previously required to seek approval to race in WorldTour races. After securing enough UCI points across a 3-year period, they are promoted to the highest tier of professional cycling for 2023, and will appear at all WorldTour events.
